There's a point inside every fan where they just wanna forget about the season, and just move on to the next one. I'm feeling the hate right now. We'll start with last years 2007 LSU football team. With star defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey coming back to hopefully earn a national championship, and with 5th year QB Matt Flynn leading LSU's offense with his experience, they looked to be pretty good. But that was only half of the story. Starting QB and later to become #1 overall draft pick Jamarcus Russell, hard Hitting safety LaRon Landry, WR Dwayne Bowe went, and WR Craig Davis, all starters, left to NFL in the first round the year before and LSU's offense looked to be down. But LSU came out to the season going undefeated and grasping the #1 spot until their triple overtime loss to Kentucky. With that loss, they fell down to #8. But over the weeks, LSU slowly crawled back in to the race of things by beating Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Virginia Tech, and South Carolina, all ranked at the time of the game. But then in the last game of the season, LSU looking to clinch an SEC title birth, lost to Arkansas in triple overtime almost mimicking the Kentucky game earlier in the season. Now with two losses on their resume, LSU looked to be out of the national title race. But all over the nation, LSU fans were calculating what it would take for LSU to get in to the National Title. It was official. All that had to happen is that LSU beat Tennessee in the SEC championship game, #1 Missouri to lose to Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game, and #2 West Virginia to lose to Pitt in the back yard brawl. If all that were to happen, which was a long shot, then LSU would be one of three 2 loss teams competing for a national title bid. Well with all the nation relaxing at home, expecting at least on of the two teams to win, it happened. West Virginia and Mizz both lost nail biters in the end and led all the college football world to watch to see what happens in the BCS bowl announcements. LSU was given the birth to the national title because of all their wins against ranked teams and considering that both of their losses were in triple overtime. LSU went on to win it against Ohio State 38-24, With the spark leading LSU fans to belive in a bright future. Throughout the preseason, SEC fans were raving about how strong the SEC is and arguing over who would win it. With LSU fans with a national championship on their resume, they carried all the confidence in the world to belive that they would again succeed. Well we were wrong. First of all, you can't get any better than winning a national title, you can only be worse, so in the back of our minds, we all new it couldn't get any better. In the begging of the 2008 season, LSU looked to be the national champions like the year before, smoking Appalachian state and winning a close on e against rival Auburn. But LSU had a long hard road in front of them in order to succeed. As the season wore on, the win against Auburn began to fade because Auburn started losing week after week. While confidence was draining out of LSU fans as the days went on, they were still pumped up in Gainesville for their first big test v.s. the Florida Gators. Florida proved to be all the hype in the beginning with Florida taking the lead in only 3 plays. LSU's defense proved to be no match for the fastest offense in the nation. With one loss on their schedules, LSU fans began to think back to last year when they barely pulled it out at the end, but still, in the back of every Tiger fans mind, was that fear of failure and let down. As if one strike didn't make it clear, LSU lost to Georgia in a fourteen point game which was mostly blamed on Red Shirt freshman QB Jarrett Lee throwing 4 picks including 2 for touchdowns. With two losses on their stat sheet, all LSU fans could hope is to win out the rest of their schedule. Their next tough opponent on the treacherous LSU schedule was #1 Alabama. With Former LSU coach Nick Saban returning to LSU for the first time, except this time with a new team. The game proved to be an emotional one won by turnovers. And as they say, a teams as strong as their weakest player, which in this case was QB Jarrett Lee throwing 4 interceptions including one for a touchdown and one in overtime to seal the Alabama victory 27-20. Now with all of the Fight and fire sucked out of LSU's players and fans, they still had to face 3 more mediocre opponents. The next week was a scary one when LSU was down 31-3 against non conference opponent Troy late in the third quarter. LSU rallied back and used all energy possible to pull off a 40-31 victory clinching a bowl game. By this time LSU fans and family were just wanting to get the season over with. But that wasn't it. LSU lost a blow out to Ole Miss the next week and another to Arkansas because of a 20 yard touchdown pass with 22 seconds remaining. Now with LSU's record standing at 7-5, I just want to get out of the season. The future looks good, and their's no doubt that they will be better next year. With all three of their QB's this year being red shirt freshman, they can only get better entering their junior year. Starting freshman Corner Patrick Peterson is with no doubt bringing back his very special athletic ability to next years defense. He's gonna be LSU's next Big star. Starting power back Charles Scott, Starting WR Brandon LaFell, and Speedster Trinton Holiday all returning, LSU looks to have a lot better offense next year. Rahim Alem, starting Defensive end, and Strong safety Chad Moody also returning, will be a force added to LSU's defense. Not mentioning #1 dual threat QB in the nation, #1 athlete in the nation, Russell Shepherd committing to LSU already, which will give LSU's offense more speed with his 4.4 forty speed. Bayou fans, I see a great future for our LSU tigers. GEUAX TIGERS!!!!!!!!

The REAL BCS rankings

Well usually, I'm a fan of the BCS rankings and all the shenanigans that go along with it. But not today. This weeks BCS polls doesn't show you who the best teams are, it's just playing the "who beat who" game. I'll give you the REAL college football rankings for who's the best team in the country. Records don't matter, it just matters on who's hot and who's not.

1. Florida- they're the team playing the best ball in all the land, no doubt about it. They've ran in 37 touchdowns, passed in 25, and have out scored their opponents 511 to 132. If you want more proof than just tune in to ABC or ESPN2 when they play #20 Florida State, Saturday, 3:30 pm

2. Oklahoma- Teams grow as the season go's on and this team has shown among the most improvement of any team in college football. Even thought they lost to Texas at a neutral site earlier in the season, if they were to play them again, it would be similar to the Texas Tech game. A blow-out. They lead the NCAA in points scored a game and their defense has stepped it up over the last couple of games

3. Utah- They're playing phenomenal football right now taking down other questionable teams trying to sneak into the BCS including TCU and BYU. They're playing great football right now and I think they can beat teams like USC, Penn State, and Boise State.

4.USC- Since USC's loss to conference opponent Oregon State, they've only allowed 3.8 points per game and have outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points, Although the two Washington teams they shut-out have a combined record of 2-21, and one of the wins came from when the two teams played each other.

5. Missouri- They're listing near the top of the rankings in total offense, passing yards, points per game, and first downs a game. Most people think that Texas, Texas Tech, or oklahoma will win the Big 12 championship, but they have to go through Missouri first.

I only did the top 5 teams because it's almost impossible to rank the teams past this point. Their are so many teams that are doing well right now, but these teams are the best teams in the nation right now and they need to be noticed as the best.

These polls don't mean anything! This weeks BCS is inaccurate!

In case you haven't got a chance to look at the latest BCS polls yet, they got knocked up. With #2 Texas Tech going down hard to #5 Oklahoma, #3 Texas had a bye week, #1 Alabama won, #4 Florida won, and with 6 teams with 1 loss records, it's nearly impossible to put these teams in the right order. It's a total mess and I sincerely hope that the best teams some how get their rightful bowl games.

What's really screwed up is all this Big 12 south shenanigans. With Texas Tech beating Texas, Texas beating Oklahoma, and Oklahoma beating Texas Tech, theirs no possible way to decide which team is the better of the three. Well we have to do something, so according to the Big 12, the team that is the highest in the BCS polls will be the team that go's to the Big 12 Championship game. Well even though theirs one week left, Texas is the highest in the BCS out of the three, even though they idled this week.

Another thing that should be fixed, is The Pac-10 dilemma between USC and Oregon State. both with only one loss within the conference, USC's to Oregon State, and Oregon state's to Stanford in the first week of the season. USC has won the Pac-10 for the last who knows how long, and if Oregon State wins it, then it out a shut Pete Carol up about not getting a fair ranking. Oregon State still has one last conference game this weekend v.s. #19 Oregon, which is gonna test this Oregon State team to see if they're truly up to the rose bowl challenge. The way all of this is going to affect the BCS is that now, USC can't go to the Rose Bowl and have the ultimate home field advantage like they've had the last billion years in a row, which means that they will have to receive an "at large" bid to another bowl game that might test them a little more than usual.

One last thing that's bothering me about this weeks edition of the BCS polls is that Florida is still only #4 in the nation. Right now their are two teams in the SEC that haven't lost more than one game; Alabama, and Florida. Everyone should agree that if you go with only one loss in the SEC, then you most likely deserve to go to the title game, and if you go undefeated, their's NO QUESTION that you should go. Well many of you may have read my article a couple of weeks ago about how Bama doesn't deserve to be #1, and how Florida is going to go all the way in my opinion. Well these two teams are already set for the SEC championship game in Atlanta Georgia. These two teams are arguably the best two teams in the nation and one will have to pack it up a week from this Saturday.

All of this is setting up one of these two things. Either Oklahoma, Texas, or Texas Tech goes to win the Big 12 championship game and face either Florida or Alabama in the national championship game. Or, Alabama will lose to Auburn, Florida will lose to Florida state, and then beat Alabama in the SEC title game. Texas will lose to Texas A&M, Oklahoma will lose to Oklahoma State, and then Missouri will beat Texas Tech in the Big 12 championship game, and USC will face Utah in the national championship game. All of which is VERY possible.

Ball State Needs Every Break They Can Get To Stay Undefeated

Ball State and Central Michigan played last night featuring the best of the MAC. To me Ball State QB Nate Davis was a little bit of a dissappointment. Before the game, everyone was getting so hyped up about this guy but then he got totally outmatched by Central Michigan QB Dan LeFevour. LeFevour was 30/44, 345 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 int. Even though he put up great numbers, Ball State got some lucky breaks including false start, and holding penalties in the fourth quarter so they can hold off the Central Michigan offense just long enough to squeak out a victory. This game showed me 3 things.

1. Ball State is overrated and if given a BCS bid, they will likely get crushed.

2. BCS busters act like playing a MAC team is a "tough game"

3. Dan LeFevour is a beast

4. Central Michigans gonna be good next year since Dan LeFevour and many other offensive starters are returning next year

5. I'm rooting against BCS busters for now on

Central Michigan- Ball State Preview. Upset Alert! Upset Alert! Upset Alert! Upset Alert! Upset Alert! Upset Alert!

While most college football is played on Saturday's, some of the smaller conferences play on the weekdays. Most of these games are just a way to get T.V. viewers and gain school popularity for smaller schools. But not on Wednesday when the Central Michigan, the unstoppable force in the MAC, takes on Ball State, the Undefeated BCS hopefuls. Although many of these "BCS Busters" have very easy schedules, (which is why a couple go undefeated each year) every once in a while theirs a tough game on their schedule that will show America if they're ready to go to a major BCS bowl or not. Well right now, Ball State's on trial. They're coming into this game with the record of 10-0 for the first time in school history, have all the confidence in the world, and are expecting to roll right through the rest of the season untouched. But not if Central Michigan QB, Dan LeFevour has to say something about it. Dan has 18 total TD's this season even though he's missed two games because of a leg injury and has played with the injury the last couple of games. Because of his bad leg, he lacks the stats that he had last year, almost matching Tim Tebow's exactly, but he's preparing and ready to play on Wednesday against Ball State. I think that possession of the football will be key if Central Michigan wants to win on Wednesday. Ball State has an explosive offense and have many big plays to offer, so if Central can hold on to the ball, and not turn the ball over then I think that they can very well win this football game. My prediction right now is Central Michigan pulls of the huge upset in Overtime, 37-34. Go Chippewa's!

LSU- pulls off one of the largest comebacks in NCAA History

LSU v.s. Troy. What was expose to be an easy match-up for LSU. An easy win, if you will. Well I was at my house in N.C. and unfortunately this game was not on television so I was watching it on the live game cast on ESPN. I was so surprised by how much they were losing, that I was almost laughing. But Even though that they were losing 31-3 in the 3rd quarter, I still had that little feeling that every fan has deep inside, that maybe, just maybe, this could be the game when they come back. Well last night WAS that game. LSU rallied back with 38 unanswered points, including out scoring Troy 30-0 in the fourth quarter. If you look at the quarter break down, you'll never believe how well they turned their performances around. Jarrett Lee was getting booed by Tiger Stadium and was actually benched for a portion of the first half. But then in the second half, he connected with Brandon LaFell 9 times and had more than 200 yards in the final two quarters, leading the Tigers to a win. Their defense also improved drastically. After allowing almost 300 yards passing in the first half, to holding them to only 7 points in the second. This win kept LSU from suffering the embarrassment of the defending national champions losing to a sun belt conference team. What I think is responsible for this lame duck performance in the first half is the players losing interest in the remaining games because of their loss to Alabama the previous week. Even though they're out of the BCS hunt, they should still care about the rest of their season and try to get a good bowl game. They need to build as much as confidence as they can before the next season. Especially for their 3 freshman QB's.

Oregon State............. Pac 10 champions?

Well right now guess who's #1 in the Pac-10. NO, not USC. It's actually Oregon State. If Oregon state wins the rest of their games, then they're automatically Pac-10 champs because of their win over USC. If Oregon State does win the Pac-10, then Pete Carol has to shut his mouth about how the BCS is stupid and how he's being treated unfairly. Because then he's not conference champs and that means that he can't be #1 or #2. And you can't get a good BCS bowl when your not your own conference champs. Especially when you can't win the Pac-10. I've been waiting a while for this day, where USC can't control their own destiny, where they can't complain about where they're ranked, and Pete Carol can't keep on saying "this is the best team I've ever coached" year after year. Oregon State rolled over Cal today, cutting the home stretch down to only two games. I've never been so excited about a Pac-10 team winning games. Matter a fact, I've never been excited about anything that has to do with the Pac-10. Keep on goin Oregon State!

Charlie Weis is saved by the bell

Charlie Weis was saved by the bell after his fighting Irish just squeaked out a victory against Navy. Everybody was talking all week about how he's in the hot seat since he's been losing the last two seasons but after the victory, he just might have saved his job. But honestly, whenever everybody is complaining because Notre Dame isn't going to BCS bowls, they automaticly think that it's the Coaches fault. Charlie Weis has been the best out of the last 3 coaches so Notre Dame fans just stop complaining. Your Glory days ended a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago so stop complaining. Your lucky to have a good coach like Charlie Weis on your side, maybe it's not his fault. They haven't had many great players beside Brady Quinn. So maybe it's your recruiting. I think that it's a good thing that Charlie Weis won and is coming back to Notre Dame. I don't see a national championship but they'll have a better future with him at coach.

Obviously #1

Florida is obviously #1. They are the best team in the nation by far. They've blown out too many ranked teams including LSU, Georgia, Vandy, Kentucky, and now South Carolina. They're the fastest team in the nation and speed pays off. They have 12 players on their team with a 4.4 forty or better and they also have Heisman QB, Tim Tebow. I'm telling you right now that they're going to go into the SEC championship game and crush Alabama because Alabama is just too slow to keep up with Florida and the best rushing defense, bla bla bla. If they had the best defense than they would have held Charles Scott of LSU to less that 150 yards rushing. After that, Florida will beat Texas Tech in the National Championship. It'll be a closer game than the Alabama game but they'll still win. I'm not a Gators fan but i'm just saying, they're the best team in the nation.

It happened again to Michigan

Well what do ya know, Michigan lost again and this time it was to northwestern. But that's not the story. Michigan had more first downs, most of them rushing, better rushing yards per carry , had the same amount of turnovers, had less sacks, and less punts, better 4th down efficiency, and about the same 3rd down efficiency, but they found a way to lose. It's almost as if Michigan can do very well the entire day but find a way to blow it. I almost feel sorry for them going into next weeks game v.s. Ohio State. If I were a Michigan fan, I would not be very happy with my team right now. Rich Rodriguez needs to pull his team together and do some serious game situation practice if they want to have any chance of beating Ohio State next week. It's a huge rivalry game and anything can happen but it's not looking like it's gonna be a "Penn state-Iowa" type matchup.

Come on Jared Lee, lets go! You've thrown enough interceptions already leading up to the Alabama game, you've already shown the nation that you know how to screw up a game in about 2.5 seconds, and you've already shown that you can ruin the defending national champs season in a heartbeat. So why'd you do it again against Alabama! LSU is ALOT better than Alabama. Alabama sucks! That was probably the most winnable game of the season and you screwed it up with 4 interceptions including 1 for a touchdown and 1 in overtime! I know that Alabama does NOT have the best defense in the nation, they let Charles Scott rush for almost 150 yards! And getting 4 picks off Jared Lee isn't an accomplishment. Auburn got 3, Florida got 3, and Georgia got 5. Now I have to listen to all of those stupid Alabama fans chanting "JeLouSU" just because they got lucky because their arch rivals has 3 freshman QB's. You'll see what happens next year when he has experience and when they have Russel Shepard on their side. If you don't know who he is then look it up. He committed to LSU. Just type in "Russel Shepard" on Google.com. Jared Lee, your killin LSU fans with your inexperience so you better get alot better over the next year or two and you better make up for it with a bunch of W's. Just keep on fighting.

Why not BCS?

Just listen to me here for a second. For the last couple of months, I've been hearing people complain about the BCS system in college football and how it should be stopped because it's unfair. Well It just seems like it's unfair when ever your team loses and doesn't make it as far as you want them too. Trust me I've been their. Ever since last year I thought the BCS was a little stupid, unorganized, and Untrusted. But once LSU got the good end of the BCS deal and got a bid to play in the national championship, I became a BCS fan. It's exciting. This year LSU's out of the race by about 2 losses but it's still fun and exciting to debate the rankings and who should be where and why. If it weren't for the BCS than the T.V. ratings would go down because of the lack of interest in the games because every game doesn't matter since you'll make the play-offs anyways. Obama can't do any thing about it until 2014 and the NCAA looks pretty stiff at this point. I think that college football is riding on the BCS system and it's making the players play harder and work harder because every week is a play-off. With the BCS system then every week can and WILL decide your destiny, whether you like it or not. The thing about the BCS that frightens people is that if their team loses once than they drop in the rankings and it's that much harder to get to the championship. Fans of teams in larger conferences don't want their season to be over when they lose once. They'd rather get another chance and see more match ups. But lets be real. If their WAS a play-off system, then WHO WOULD DETERMINE THE TEAMS THAT WOULD GO TO THE PLAYOFFS? The AP poll? The coaches poll? What about the BCS? I think that the BCS is fine right now and if you think your team got the wrong end of the deal, then they'll come back next year to show it. The BCS is based off how good the team does the next year. For instance; the Georgia Bull Dogs went 10-2 last season without a SEC championship. Many college football fans were arguing that they should go to the National Championship instead of LSU. Other fans wanted Undefeated Hawaii to go. So what did the BCS do? It Put those two teams against each other in a BCS bowl. Hawaii got blown out and as for Georgia, instead of coming back this year with the help of the #1 pre-season ranking and dominating other teams, they lose to a blow out to Alabama and lose another Blow out to Florida.
In the end, the BCS makes the right desision. Every team gets a chance. Whether they take advantage of it or not, is their choice.

OOOOOO(really)Obama

Now as many of you may know by now, or should know by now, is that Barrack Obama is our new president. Another thing some of you may know is Obama's take on college football and a playoff system. In case you don't know, i'll fill you in. During half-time of the Steelers-Redskins game, Barrack Obama was asked if he could change one thing about sports, what would it be? He said that if he were president, he would make it so that their is a college play-off system. Now most people (not including my-self) thought "Really? GO OBAMA! We want play-offs!"

Personally I'm not a fan of College football having a play-off system because I think that every year, even though it may have a few weird or out of place rankings, the best team always shows in the championship. Pete Carroll is just upset about the BCS because he lost to Oregon state and now he can't be #1 so he has to blame it on somebody. In 2004 he didn't complain about the BCS because he was #1. But the main question that this half-time interview left me was, "Can he really do that?". As the President of the United States, you can change alot, actually that's his moto; change. But he can only change so much. He can't reach into the NCAA organization and force them to have a College play-off system. You just can't. That's like saying (just using this as an example) if he doesn't like strawberry ice-cream and thinks it's horrible, he can shut down the production of strawberry ice-cream (again just using it as an example). When I read this article after the half-time of the Steelers-Redskins game, I thought, OOOOOO(really)OBAMA.

Bama's not #1!

As you look at some of the top teams in the land right now, they would be Texas Tech, Alabama, Florida, Texas, and maybe Oklahoma. Not USC. If you look at who's the best team, I think that I know the exact rankings;

1. Florida- They Beat the crap out of LSU, Georgia, and Vandy.

2. Texas Tech- They're the only undefeated team in the Big 12 and they beat Texas.

3. Texas- They beat Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Missourri

4. Oklahoma- Beat TCU and Kansas

5. Alabama- They beat LSU and Georgia

The reason that I have Alabama so low is because i'm a huge LSU fan and it just so happens that both Georgia and Alabama both beat LSU. The difference is that in the Florida/LSU game, LSU's QB threw 3 interceptions and Florida blew out LSU point blank but in the LSU/Alabama game, LSU's QB threw 4 interceptions, 1 for a touchdown, and still went to over time tied at 21. That shows me that Alabama may be good but not nearly good enough to be number 1. Most rankings won't show Alabama an lower than #1 untill they lose; which they will. If they play as good as they did aginst LSU aginst Floridain the SEC championship game then they're going down big time, i'm talking a 45-14 blow out.
